Claiming Hermione

I really hope I haven't posted on this story already, but I doubt I have already.

Claiming Hermione by ilke is amazing, a great story, perfect for a first time Dramione reader. Why? Because the characters aren't drastically changed, it just draws you in... By the end of the first few chapters you sort of can't see Hermione with anyone else. I don't really know how else to say it...

Location: AFFN
The summary for this story is:
"This doesn't change anything, Granger. We're not friends."
Warnings:
Anal, Angst, BDSM, Bond, D/s, Dom, Exhib, Language, Spank, Toys, UST(?)
Rating: Adult ++
Length: 24 chapters so far

How Good? Up there with Contrast! I'm having good luck finding great stories lately!
Status: WIP
Pairing: Dramione

It might not seem like being in my top stories is a lot, but literally... After going through my criteria, which if anyone doesn't know is rather particular, it has kept my interest so much that I check every couple of hours for updates. I rarely do that! Especially with how annoying AFFN is. This story is so well written, so HOT, so sexy, and just so witty...

**Being well written (good grammar, minimal spelling errors, and written like a writer, not a fanatical fan) is so important. I recently read, well started reading, a story... something about Harry and Draco switching places during a vital time prior to/during the War. I loved the concept, but was revolted at the grammar, and just wished someone else could have had the idea. Or could just rewrite it for me... Oy!

**Stories

I have yet to finish a story!

I really don't feel like writing about a story that has not been finished yet, but I imagine I will have to with Claiming Hermione.

Currently, I am re reading a story called "More Than Anything by dynonugget over at AFFN. So far, the only thing I don't really like is the fluff. I miss the old Draco! The mean Draco! The snark!

**When I get a chance

I plan on writing a review of the story The Wedding, a Lumione I finished yesterday! I can find all sorts of stories when I just search deep into the archives of sites....
There was something else I read this morning... or rather, last night, that I will post on as soon as I find it again! And get internet... :(

**Check In

Alright, sorry about the long wait between posts. I have been looking around for an apartment while living in a place in the middle of nowhere, no internet, no tv, nothing...

But I have a phone, a Blackberry, with internet, and I have managed to continue reading quite a bit!

So I am reading three stories right now. One, a WIP is Claiming Hermione (Dramione). Another, Heart and Soul (Luna/Draco thought I'd try something new!). And my current obsession, Love Thy Enemy (Lumione).... I will be posting about Claiming Hermione as soon as I can get on a computer long enough to write about it, and put the links and email the author and such.

Oy, I just realized that a different Harry Potter fanfiction award place is Quill To Parchment. I never really paid much attentiont to anything other than the Dramione Awards... So QTP is where I found that Luna/Draco story... it is actually rather sweet!

Match

Match by Mental was and still is a surprise. I have never attempted to read anything other than Dramione, Lumione, and Dramionaise, and this was a great leap from the norm. I was totally shocked as to how well written this story was, how well developed, and how well the main character grew on me. It was a journey into the past of the HP series... What a wonderful trip!

Location** HPFF
The summary for this story is:
"Ze Meridian has a serious problem: despite the skirt, everyone seems to think she's a boy. Desperate to prove that having short hair, a bloke for a best friend, and a serious obsession with sport does not mean she's lacking in feminine wiles, Ze enlists the help of Sirius Black to set Hogwarts straight about the question of her gender. And since Sirius has just entered into a bet with his friends to see who can remain celibate longest, he shouldn't have any trouble keeping his hands to himself...should he?"
Warnings: Strong Language, Scenes of a Sexual Nature, Substance Use or Abuse, Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Rating: Mature
Length: LONG, 38 Chapters so far, and it seems like it's just getting started!
Time Period: Marauders
How Good? Top Three Stories of All Time Good!
Status** WIP
Pairing** Sirius/OC
Alright, so it is very high up in my favorite stories. I can relate, I can understand the characters, and there is nothing left out! It's like... a soap opera, with cliffhangers galore! But like I mentioned before, it seems like it will go on forever and ever, like it will never end, but phew! It is definitely the business.

**What's Up

Just letting everyone know that I am going to be traveling for a few days, going home! Pretty much a cross country trip! So I wont be able to write as often as usual.

I have been reading Match by Mental. It is pure amazing ness. I can't put it down.

**Match

I think I might give a story called Match over at HPFanfiction a try. It is like number one top rated stories, most reviews, most favorite... Its not a Dramione, it's a Sirius/OC. I don't even read much Sirius... All I can say is that he's better than Remus and Severus.

**A story I'm reading

Currently I am reading a Lucius/Hermione story called Wizards Porn by Utopia over at AFFN.

It is pretty wonderful, and very well written. But the true Dramione fan in me cannot imagine Lucius anywhere near this yet... It just doesn't match.

I think it's because I've developed my own little pickiness when it comes to fanfiction, and I guess I should clear some of that up. Not the pickiness, but why I don't bother reading most stories, because in reality I start about 5 stories in order to get into 1. I guess that doesn't make sense. I will search all day for a story that passes my inspection. Then I will read it.

I guess these are my rules:

-Until recently, no WIP stories or single chaptered ones. It drives me nuts to get into a story that hasn't been updated in 2 years.
-No first person POV stories. I cannot read that way, the character whose POV I'm reading through is never really developed... Literally, I have started Dramione Award winners, but as soon as the 1st person thing is realized, I go back and look for something else.
Lucius/Hermione
-Time travel, I don't really understand the idea of Hermione going back and falling in love with a past character or something, like Voldemort/Tom Riddle or some senior Malfoy. Keep it in the current!
-A dumb, submissive Hermione. Like, I am growing into D/s fiction, but not so much the idea that Hermione is just waiting around for someone to do her. The Hermione in my mind is intelligent beyond belief.
-A dumb, old, sad, depressed, lonely Lucius is a no. That includes poor Azkaban-damaged Lucius. My Lucius, that I appreciate, is smart, clever, witty, and just plain gorgeous. He has impeccable manners, and can challenge Hermione in anything.
-I also cannot picture a threesome story with Lucius and Snape/Harry/Draco/ANYONE. Lucius just seems to be selfish.
-Any filthy Muggleborn/insane Death Eater pairing of Hermione/Lucius is just not going to catch my attention.
-Any super into the future fic, with a middle aged/menopausal/elderly Hermione is just freaky. Especially if she is a virgin with extremely low self esteem. I guess this falls into the Dramione category as well. Also, I believe in the age system of wizards, that they live to be a lot older than us Muggles. As described in Girl Talk by Snapes_Goddess, a wizards prime age is in the early hundreds...
Draco/Hermione/Blaise
-Well, Draco and Blaise have to be friends, like best friends.
-I hate a fluffy sweet Draco.... whiny like in A Dowry of a Single Galleon by Krissy. Don't get me wrong, that was a good story, but he was painfully out of character.
-An evil Death Eater Draco who is just raping Hermione. That is just dumb.
-Blaise is Italian to me. I've always pictured him as European, very endearing, and very generous. Not black. Ethnic, yes, European, yes, Tanned skin and thick curly hair, double yes. Don't get me wrong, I'm black myself, but Blaise Zabini is very Italian.
-I don't do the baby thing. Draco with kids, or Hermione with kids is just wrong, and ruins the entire development of their relationship with their pasts.

I guess I don't have too many limits on Dramione/Dramionaise pairings because most of them work out fine. I will add more as I look up a new story today. I'm sure I'll find plenty more.

Love is...
